Animal Health Ireland (AHI) has announced the return of its highly regarded Summer CalfCare series this June, with the Twenty20 Beef Club playing a key role in bringing events to life on farms in Louth and Kildare.
Running on June 9 & 11, and delivered in collaboration with Teagasc, this year’s programme is built around the theme “Summer Sets the Standard”, highlighting practical, achievable actions farmers can take to maintain calf performance throughout the grazing season.
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting progressive farmers, the Twenty20 Beef Club will co-host two on-farm events, creating valuable opportunities for farmer members to gain practical insights, engage directly with technical experts and reinforce the standards that underpin efficient, profitable calf-to-beef systems.
The events will focus on:
- Keeping calves healthy
- Causes of summer scour
- Calf performance at grazing
Taking place from 7–9pm each evening with refreshments provided, the events will be hosted on the farms of:
- Tuesday 9th June: Francis Bellew, Monasterboice, Drogheda, Co. Louth
- Thursday 11th June: Simon & Peter Byrne, Castledermot, Athy, Co. Kildare
These events are free to attend and no registration is required
