Innovation Manager for Kepak Foodservice



The innovation manager is responsible for driving the innovation agenda for the division. They will work closely with brand and commercial teams to develop a compelling vision for innovation that is aligned with business growth targets.


This exciting opportunity provides extensive scope to make an organisational impact by bringing concepts to existing and new categories and markets and will require someone with imagination, resilience and innovation experience.



Reporting to the marketing manager/director for foodservice with one direct report supported by a multi-disciplinary team



Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop a compelling vision for innovation and ensure it is aligned with the brand strategy
  • Identify opportunity areas and lead the ideation process to develop winning ideas
  • Develop a strong long-term innovation calendar that is aligned to business growth targets
  • Draft winning business cases to bring projects through the stage gate process that are based on market data and insights
  • Identify & brief external suppliers (co-manufacturing partners, ingredient suppliers, packaging suppliers etc.)
  • Work closely with the business development team to ensure the concept is continuously improved through customer validation and robust research
  • Engage with the markets to ensure their local market knowledge is captured and a clear understanding is gained of the potential of the initiative in each individual market
  • Understand product performance /suitability for operator equipment
  • Provide the marketing team with concept/ product information required for launch packs
  • Project-manage innovation launches from concept generation to post launch evaluation with the support of the project management officer & technical team.

  • Successful candidates will ideally have a minimum of five year’s food product development or related experience; with a proven track record of launching successful innovation
  • Third level degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Business/Marketing , Food Innovation or similar qualification
